Australian Consul-General in Chengdu

Ms Meaghan Shaw is an experienced diplomat with previous posting experience in China. She was most recently Deputy Director of DFAT’s Victoria State Office and prior to that was the Director of the Media and Communications Section in DFAT’s East Asia Outreach Branch. From 2018-2022 she was posted to the Australian Embassy in Beijing as First Secretary, Public Affairs and Culture. Before joining DFAT, Ms Shaw was a journalist at The Age and a media adviser in the Victorian Government and not-for-profit sector.

Ms Shaw speaks Mandarin and French and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) from RMIT University.

Opening Hours

The Consulate-General is open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday except for public holidays.

Passport applications may be lodged between 9:00am to 12:00 pm, Monday to Friday except for statutory holidays. Notarial services will be available between 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Tuesday and Friday only. If you are unable to meet these working hours, an appointment is required.
